From having experienced the failure of one company to the success of another, the game of and challenge of entrepreneurship is a lifelong passion

I am the Cofounder of the UK’s leading Emergency Food Storage company and EFS, a distribution company that operates around Europe but my first company, Nurtur, failed after 18 months in business. Here is a little bit about my journey so far.

.

It’s In The Blood

Throughout my teen years I tried many other doomed business ideas and never made a dime

I started my entrepreneurial passion early, planning to make my fortune from building toilet roll father Christmas models and selling them to my neighbours when I was 9. This venture proved not to be as profitable as I had imagined and was closed down after just three days.

.

University

At university I started my first real money making business, focusing on cost effective brand and marketing for young start up companies looking to break into the markets. It was a welcome alternative to bar work.

.

Nurtur

In 2004 I cofounded Nurtur, an Eco-happy product design company focussed on promoting healthy living, healthy eating and great design.

Out of university I cofounded my first real limited company, Nurtur, and spent 18 months developing and bringing to market our first product. Much like my first business, this one proved less profitable than I had imagined and we just managed to break even, though the turnover numbers were larger than with Father Christmas models.

Our product, Enu, is currently licensed to BEEcycle under the Ovo brand and sells well around the internet as a christmas gift.

.

Project Manager

For a few years I sold out and work around Europe as a Project Manager in the oil and gas industry before getting back to my roots and co founding Emergency Food Storage in 2008 and EFS Distribution is 2009.

I am currently working on my forth business, GObrandme, which should be launching in 2011.

.

Current Companies

In 2008 I cofounded Emergency Food Storage to shake up an old fashioned and under performing market.

Emergency Food Storage was founded with one mission – to make food storage simple. In the industry at the time emergency food storage was expensive, time consuming and required constant updating.

We revolutionised the industry by drastically reducing options and bringing innovative and technology driven practices and high quality design to a dated industry. We created food storage pack options with tiny footprints, 25 year life spans and user friendly buying options.

The success of Emergency Food Storage has been incredible. In less than 2 years with have become the leading supplier of emergency food storage options in the UK and are starting to take market share in Europe, doubling turnover and profits year on year since launch.

Following the success of Emergency Food Storage we founded EFS Distribution to bring the Aquamira range of water filtration products to European market and are slowly building our brand presence in the market.
